Parallax Energy Operating Inc. (“Parallax”) is an oil and gas company with a consolidated position in the Duvernay and a production base of over 17,000 boe/d.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a dedicated Surface Land Agent to join our team. This role will be based out of Lacombe, Alberta, and will work alongside all operational departments to support an upstream oil drilling program in Central Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring projects for a capital development program and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle and engaging with all stakeholders. While this position is field based, the successful candidate will be supported by the team from our Calgary office.

 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Negotiate and acquire surface land contracts pertaining to surface use, including but not limited to surface leases, rights-of-ways, road use, water use, and rental reviews.

  • Keep abreast of government regulations, industry trends, and land values for surface rights in the operational area.

  • Collaborate with Surface Land Analysts and a variety of stakeholders to coordinate all surface land activities for a drilling program and maintenance of existing assets.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between surface owners and field personnel to proactively address and resolve issues related to operations and daily production activities.

  • Prepare applications and perform all tasks required to obtain rights of entry as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong working knowledge of AER Directive 56.

  • Licensed Land Agent in Alberta.

  • Industry experience as a Surface Land Agent.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and industry partners.

  • Self-motivated with strong negotiation skills and the ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision.

  • Team-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
